Two reasons to have a mold inspection.
- Mold growth and Water Intrusion Destroy Building Materials
Mold is everywhere within our exterior and interior worlds. It serves a tremendous service in recycling our organic ma
terials outdoors. But if mold grows unchecked it will gradually destroy the materials they grow on. By uncovering mold and moisture intrusion problems on your home or office, damage can be stopped. - Health Issues
The degree of risk from exposure to mold is determined by a person’s general health and pre-existing sensitivity to mold, as well as the concentration of the mold bloom. As reported in the Harvard Preserve (January 16,2007), ” Respiratory-related illnesses are the most common problems from mold spores. Each type of mold spore is a certain size and their size determines how far they can go into our respiratory systems.”
What to expect from a mold inspection:
Depending on the size of your property, a mold inspection will take 1½ – 3 hours. This inspection is a hands-on visual inspection of your property combined with scientific evaluation from air or surface samples taken. The number of samples taken depends upon what is discovered during the visual inspection, the size of your property and any sampling you specifically request. All samples are sent to a nationally accredited laboratory for analysis.
During the visual inspection your property is examined for any elements affecting mold’s ability to grow. The property and all mold and moisture intrusion issues are extensively photographed.
The Report
Once the lab results are in, you will receive a comprehensive, yet easy-to-read report detailing our findings incorporating photographs to better illustrate those findings. The report also includes practical recommendations on improving issues affecting mold in the air and how to handle mold found growing.
